Kokoda Tribute

Itinerary

Day 1
Depart Brisbane International Airport, Arrive Port Moresby, tour of Port Moresby and visit to Bomana War Cemetery and transfer to our Hotel in Sogeri.
Day 2
Transport to Ower's Corner and commence the Kokoda trek crossing the Goldie River and climbing Imita Ridge (the furthest point of the Australian withdrawal). Camp at Ua-Ule Creek.
Day 3
Ua Ule Creek to Nauro via Ioribaiwa Ridge (the furthest point of the Japanese advance).
Day 4
Nauro to Menari Village. Today we walk through the Nauro swamp and cross the Brown River and ascend The Wall before enjoying the waterholes and the village of Menari.
Day 5
Menari to Naduri Village. The walk today brings us to Brigade Hill. The scene of a fierce and costly battle to both armies. It is a place that you will recall for years to come. We descend Brigade Hill and walk through the villages of Efogi 1 and 2 before a gentle climb to Naduri and our campsite.
Day 6
Naduri to Bomber's Camp - We shall do a side trip to the Myola Lakes after setting our camp.
Day 7
Bomber's Camp to Eora Creek.
Day 8
Eora Creek to Alola Village . We then follow the Kokoda Track to Isurava and the Memorial. We shall conduct a service of our own at the memorial the following morning. Today there is time to explore the area of one of Australia's most significant battles.
Day 9
Isurava to Kokoda - After the service we shall begin our descent to Deniki and then onto Kokoda. 
Day 10
Vehicle transfer to Popondetta. Flight from Popondetta Airport to Port Moresby and transfers to Hotel.
Day 11
Hotel to Jackson's Airport and return flight to Brisbane.
